What you should know about St Johns College (Hillcrest)
St John's College encourages students to set themselves personal goals of excellence in all they do, including. St John's College is one of the select schools of the Waikato based on a long Maoist tradition. Each year the College will present a number of Scholarships to students entering the College and also to students already in the College. All students at St John’s College scrutinize a General Science course in Years 9 and 10. This course is designed for students from Years 12 and 13 who are in their final year at St John’s College and who are looking seriously at Training and Employment opportunities.
Music groups that perform include concert band, orchestra, senior guitar group, acoustic guitars, drum corps, choir, Irish Ceilidh group and jazz band. St John's College has a energetic cultural life, with many music groups and steady dramatic performances. Four scholarships of 500 each, three to students entering the College and one to a student already at the College. They will confront staff and offer students and visit classes and learn about their hasty days in 2018.
This year was our most triumphant ever, with two beginning placings for our Year 9 and Year 11 teams. We did not expect that it would become quite so central to the lives of our students here at St John's College. It is student subject centered, which builds on the knowledge and practical skills developed at Years 9 and 10. The St John's College Science Department aims to foster students to excel in science. Our Physics courses are in NCAA Level 2 mostly Year 12 students and NCAA Slick 3 and 4 scholarships for Year 13 students. For those in the Years 12 and 13 there is also the Senior Careers Academy, which combines work experience with school work.
To take Slick 2 Physics students must have completed a triumphant year of Slick 1 Science. That is usually followed by a concert back at school where students perform items of music or drama, including both official school groups and more informal ones, such as the student rock bands.
