Northcross Intermediate School is situated in park like grounds on the Auckland Northshore overlooking Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf. The school is approximately 20 minutes north of down town Auckland, New Zealand and on the doorstep to many facilities and community centres. Northcross has a present roll of over a 1100 students aged between years of age and takes great pride in offering a two year programme that provides the skills so vitally important in becoming lifelong learners. Our school focuses on providing a dynamic and student centred learning environment in these very important years of an adolescent’s growth and development. Our N Y7 team played outstanding football all day against some very polished opposition teams. While the weather was a bit difficult at times, with strong cold winds and the occasional heavy shower, our students showed huge determination and resilience, gaining impressive results in every track and field event.
Our N Girls 1 st 11 Hockey team took on the superior girls teams in Auckland on Friday, representing our North Barbour Zone at Auckland Champs. North cross welcomed fresh staff, Year 7 students and fresh Year 8 students with a school Powhiri on the first stuffed school day for 2017. Congratulations to the individuals and teams who attained top placings this year. CONGRATULATIONS to all students in Room 20 for this extraordinary achievement.
North cranky welcomed new staff, Year 7 students and fresh Year 8 students with a school Powhiri on the beginning stuffed school day for 2017. North cranky was represented by 3 teams, one year 7 team and two years 8 teams. North irritable welcomed new staff, Year 7 students and new Year 8 students with a school Powhiri on the first full school day for 2017. North cranky students put their running shoes on final Friday and took to the defy of completing our annual N Merriment Run. Students from Room 20 banded together to whole an amazing 315,00 points in just one week that is around points a student, or the same of more than 1500 hours of Maths problem solving in one week.
A exceptional mention to the following students, who have gained a spot at Auckland Champs Jasmine Ha took out an impressive 1 st places in the Y8 Girls division and Janet Ha achieved an extraordinary 3 rd place also in the Year 8 Girls division. Many teachers now permit their students to use these phones during learning experiences as piece of the BYOB programmed. Competition was certainly severe and the challenges pushed the abilities of all teams attending with one team from N taking 1 st place. They faced a very determined St Ruth’s team in the final, but our girls fought firm and finished with the coveted title of Auckland Champs! The students who represented North cross gave their all and an particular amount of effort was witnessed throughout the day. It was a thriving day for our four North cross Netball teams at the recent North Barbour Zone Day. This year, 38 North cross students made it through to the last resist by scoring over 80 in the competition.
The N team went on to prevail the last 3 nil with an impressive display of skill, team work and tactics
