Experience covers both private and publically listed companies in Australia and New Zealand at CEO, Managing Director, and Chairman and Non Executive Director levels. He has also held major shareholdings in engineering and construction business in Australasia, South Pacific and South East Asia, and developed and managed an infrastructure business owning and operating gas and hydro power stations and electricity transmission systems.
Doug has had extensive experience at the corporate level of private and publically listed companies including stock exchange listings, acquisitions and sales of businesses and business assets. ICM is a global investment group, managing various public and private investment funds, including funds with significant shareholdings in Australasian resource and infrastructure companies such as Infratil Limited, Resolute Mining Limited, and New Zealand Oil Gas Limited. He is a director of RESIMAC Financial Services Limited, and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Brightwater is a leading innovative engineering solutions provider to Australasia’s Resources, Industrial Energy, Quarry Minerals and Wood Forestry sectors.
The Group delivers total project solutions across a wide range of industries and represents a comprehensive range of specialist technologies and service delivery agencies. David was previously employed as the Executive General Manager for United Group Ltd UGL New Zealand and brings with him a broad range of engineering management and business consulting experience gained across a diverse range of industries including Shipbuilding, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Newspaper Media Production, Aviation, Rail, Major Infrastructure Construction EPCM Asset Management. Stu was previously employed as the Commercial Manager and Chief Financial Officer for the Kaipara Group. He has proven capability and experience in developing and leading a high performing finance operations across multiple locations, business entities and sectors including civil contracting, contract mining, quarrying, transport and property development.
Stu is also the company secretary and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. David joined Brightwater in May 2009 following seven years as Operations Manager for a medium sized building contractor. Originally a Fletcher trained quantity surveyor, David is also a qualified and experienced project manager, arbitrator and mediator. David’s knowledge of the commercial environment in the construction sector across the spectrum of subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, main contractors and clients is exceptional.
The Brightwater Group of Companies has grown from humble beginnings, when in 1979 Leonard Hugh Grey bought a small general engineering fabrication workshop at Brightwater near Nelson in New Zealand. At that time the Company’s five employees serviced the farming and small industrial clients in the Brightwater region. Gaining repeat work from a loyal band of clients and building a growing list of agencies for overseas technology have also been notable achievements in recent times.
